Installation Guide – Polished Bardiglio Marble Chair Rail Trim

Step 1: Surface Preparation – Clean and Level
Ensure the wall is smooth, dry, and free from dust, oils, or debris. Complete any underlying tilework or wall finishes before installing the trim. Mark a level guideline for the chair rail—commonly 32–36″ from the floor or aligned with tile edges.

Step 2: Dry Layout – Plan the Flow
Lay out the Bardiglio trim along your guideline to check alignment and veining continuity. Trim pieces with a wet saw and diamond blade for clean corners and transitions. Confirm thickness and finish compatibility if mixing with other tiles or trims.

Step 3: Adhesive Application – Secure the Trim
Recommended Adhesives:

• Laticrete 254 Platinum White (non-sag applications)

• Mapei Ultralite Mortar or equivalent marble adhesive

Back-butter each trim piece with adhesive, then press firmly onto the wall along the level line. Use spacers for even joints if installing multiple pieces in sequence.

Step 4: Grouting – Smooth Transitions
Allow adhesive to cure for 24 hours. Apply non-sanded grout to protect the polished surface, removing excess with a damp sponge. Buff remaining haze after 30–45 minutes.

Step 5: Sealing – Protect & Enhance
Once grout cures (typically 72 hours), apply a penetrating marble sealer. Re-seal periodically, especially in moisture-prone areas like kitchens and bathrooms.

Maintenance Tips:

• Clean with pH-neutral, marble-safe products only.

• Avoid abrasive or acidic cleaners.

• Wipe gently with a soft cloth to maintain shine.
