Installation Guide – Bardiglio Polished Marble Crown Molding

Step 1: Surface Preparation – Clean and Level
Ensure the wall is clean, smooth, and dry. Complete installation of surrounding finishes or field tiles before placing the crown molding. Mark a straight, level guideline where the molding will be positioned.

Step 2: Dry Layout – Plan Alignment
Dry-lay the molding pieces along the wall to preview fit and natural veining flow. Cut pieces to size using a wet saw with a fine diamond blade. Ensure corners, both inside and outside, align seamlessly.

Step 3: Adhesive Application – Secure to Wall
Recommended Adhesives:

Laticrete 254 Platinum White
Mapei Ultralite White Mortar

Apply adhesive to the back of the molding with a margin or 1/4″ notched trowel. Back-butter for full contact, then press molding firmly into place along the guideline. Use masking tape to support pieces if needed until adhesive sets.

Step 4: Grouting – Smooth Joints
After 24 hours of curing, fill joints between pieces with non-sanded grout. Use a rubber float or grout bag, wipe excess immediately, and buff any haze after 30–45 minutes with a soft cloth.

Step 5: Sealing – Protect and Maintain
Apply a penetrating stone sealer suitable for polished marble. Re-seal periodically, particularly in high-humidity areas like bathrooms.

Maintenance Tips:

Clean with pH-neutral, marble-safe cleaners only.
Avoid acidic or abrasive products that can damage the polished surface.
Wipe with a soft cloth to maintain shine.
