Installation Guide – Dolomite Polished Marble Pencil Liner

Step 1 — Surface Preparation: Clean & Stable Foundation

Ensure the wall or surface is completely dry, clean, and free of dust, oil, or debris.
Install all surrounding tiles or field tiles before setting the pencil liners.
Mark horizontal or vertical guide lines for precise placement and alignment.

Step 2 — Dry Layout & Cutting

Lay out the pencil liners without adhesive to visualize placement and natural veining.
Measure and trim pieces with a wet saw using a fine diamond blade for clean, precise edges.
Check all corners, transitions, and adjoining elements before applying adhesive.

Step 3 — Adhesive Application: Secure Installation

Recommended Adhesives:

Mapei Ultraflex LFT White
Laticrete 254 Platinum (White)

Instructions:

Apply thin-set mortar to the back of each liner with a margin trowel or small notched trowel.
Back-butter each piece to ensure full contact and press gently into place along your guideline.
For vertical or elevated installations, use painter’s tape or temporary supports to prevent slippage while curing.

Step 4 — Grouting: Clean & Minimal Finish

Allow adhesive to cure for approximately 24 hours before grouting.
Use non-sanded grout to prevent scratching the polished surface.
Wipe off excess grout immediately with a damp sponge.
After 30–45 minutes, buff lightly with a microfiber cloth to remove any residue.

Step 5 — Sealing: Protection & Longevity

Once grout has fully cured (around 72 hours), apply a penetrating marble-safe sealer.
Reapply periodically depending on exposure to water, cleaning agents, or heavy use.

Maintenance Tips

Clean with pH-neutral, non-abrasive stone cleaners.
Avoid acidic substances like vinegar or bleach to prevent etching.
Dust or gently wipe regularly to maintain polish and shine.
