Installation Guide – Dolomite Honed Marble Baseboard Trim (4″x12″)

Step 1: Surface Preparation – Ready the Wall Base
Install flooring first, then ensure the wall base is clean, smooth, and dry (typically the bottom 6 inches). Remove dust, debris, or leftover adhesive that may interfere with adhesion.

Step 2: Dry Layout – Plan & Align
Dry-lay the baseboard pieces along the wall to check alignment, length, and veining consistency. Mark a straight guideline above the floor with a level. Cut pieces as needed using a wet saw with a fine diamond blade for precise edges.

Step 3: Adhesive Application – Secure the Trim
Recommended Adhesives: Laticrete 254 Platinum White, Mapei Ultralite Mortar (white, non-sag)

Apply white thin-set mortar to the back of each trim piece using a small notched or margin trowel.
Back-butter for full contact with the wall.
Press firmly along the guideline above the flooring.
Support pieces with painter’s tape if needed until adhesive sets.

Step 4: Grouting – Seamless Joints
After 24 hours, fill joints between trim pieces with non-sanded grout. Wipe off excess immediately with a damp sponge. After 30–45 minutes, buff the surface with a soft cloth to remove grout haze.

Step 5: Sealing – Protect the Marble
Once grout has fully cured (typically 72 hours), apply a penetrating marble-safe sealer suited for honed finishes. Reapply periodically depending on moisture exposure and usage.

Maintenance Tips

Clean with pH-neutral, stone-safe products only.
Avoid acidic or abrasive cleaners that can dull or damage the honed surface.
Inspect grout lines regularly to prevent moisture penetration.
