Installation Guide – Milas White Honed Marble Baseboard Trim (4″x12″)

Step 1: Prepare the Surface
Ensure both wall and floor surfaces are clean, dry, and structurally sound. Complete floor tile installation before adding the baseboard trim. Remove any dust, debris, or residue to promote optimal adhesion.

Step 2: Dry Layout & Planning
Dry-lay all baseboard pieces along the wall to confirm consistent color and veining. Mark a level horizontal guideline approximately 4″ above the floor. Trim ends and corners as needed using a wet saw with a fine diamond blade for precise cuts.

Step 3: Apply Adhesive

Recommended Adhesives:

Laticrete 254 Platinum (White)
Mapei Ultraflex LFT or equivalent white thin-set mortar

Instructions: Apply a thin layer of mortar to the back of each trim piece using a margin trowel. Back-butter for full coverage, then press firmly along the guide line. Use painter’s tape to hold the pieces in place while the adhesive cures (minimum 24 hours).

Step 4: Grouting
Use unsanded grout to protect the honed surface from scratches. Fill joints carefully and wipe off excess immediately with a damp sponge. After 30–45 minutes, buff any haze with a soft, dry cloth.

Step 5: Sealing
Once grout has fully cured (typically 72 hours), apply a penetrating sealer suitable for honed marble. Reapply periodically depending on traffic and exposure to moisture.

Maintenance Tips

Clean with pH-neutral stone cleaners only.
Avoid acidic or abrasive products that could damage the finish.
Wipe regularly with a soft cloth to maintain the natural matte elegance of honed marble.
