Installation Guide – Milas White Crown Molding (2″x12″ Honed)

Step 1: Surface Preparation – Clean and Stable Base
Ensure the wall and ceiling areas are clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, or debris. Mark a level guideline along the ceiling where the crown molding will be positioned. Complete any adjacent wall or tile installations before placing the molding.

Step 2: Dry Layout – Preview and Fit
Lay out the crown molding pieces along the guideline to check veining continuity and color consistency. Use a wet saw with a fine diamond blade to make precise cuts, including mitered corners. Test-fit all pieces before applying adhesive.

Step 3: Adhesive Application – Set the Molding
Recommended Mortars:

Laticrete 254 Platinum (white)
Mapei Ultraflex LFT or equivalent non-sag white mortar

Back-butter each piece with a margin trowel to ensure full coverage. Press the molding firmly into place along the guideline. Use painter’s tape to support the pieces during the initial curing period (minimum 24 hours).

Step 4: Grouting – Seam Finishing
Wait at least 24 hours before grouting. Use unsanded grout to protect the honed surface from scratches. Apply grout carefully, remove excess with a damp sponge, and buff clean after 30–45 minutes.

Step 5: Sealing – Surface Protection
Once grout has fully cured (typically 72 hours), apply a penetrating sealer suitable for honed marble. Reapply periodically based on humidity, exposure, and use.

Maintenance Tips
Clean using pH-neutral stone cleaners only. Avoid acidic, abrasive, or bleach-based products. Dust or gently wipe with a soft cloth to maintain the polished appearance.
