Installation Guide – Carrara White Polished Marble Baseboard Trim

Step 1: Prepare the Surface
Ensure the wall base is clean, dry, and level. Complete flooring installation first, and remove any dust, debris, or adhesive residues from the lower wall area to guarantee proper adhesion.

Step 2: Dry Layout
Place the baseboard trim pieces along the wall to preview alignment and natural veining. Use a level to mark a straight reference line for accurate placement. Trim pieces as needed with a wet saw equipped with a fine diamond blade.

Step 3: Apply Adhesive
Recommended adhesives: Laticrete 254 Platinum White or Mapei Ultralite Mortar.
Spread adhesive evenly on the back of each trim piece, back-butter for full contact, and press firmly along the guideline. Use painter’s tape or spacers to hold pieces in place until the adhesive sets.

Step 4: Grouting
After 24 hours, fill joints between trim pieces with non-sanded grout. Wipe away excess immediately and buff the polished surface after 30–45 minutes to remove haze.

Step 5: Sealing
Apply a penetrating marble-safe sealer once grout has fully cured (around 72 hours). Reseal periodically depending on moisture exposure and cleaning frequency.

Maintenance Tips

Clean with pH-neutral stone cleaners; avoid acidic or abrasive products.
Use a soft cloth for routine wiping to preserve the polished finish.
Inspect grout and reseal in moisture-prone areas as needed.
