Installation Guide – Avalon White 16″x24″ Leathered Marble Paver
Material Overview
The Avalon White 16″x24″ Marble Paver is a large-format natural marble tile with a leathered (brushed) finish, providing a lightly textured, slip-resistant surface. Designed for outdoor horizontal applications such as patios, walkways, garden paths, and pool decks. Not recommended for vehicular areas unless a reinforced wet-set method is used.
Paver Installation
Lay pavers with consistent joint spacing of 1/8″–1/4″.
Use a staggered bond or modular pattern to accommodate large-format expansion.
Tap each paver into the bedding with a rubber mallet, ensuring a level surface.
Check alignment frequently with a straightedge or laser level.
Cutting and Fitting
Joint Stabilization
Fill joints with polymeric sand or dry jointing compound.
Compact the surface using a plate compactor fitted with a rubber pad.
Lightly mist with water if using polymeric sand to activate binding.
Optional: Wet-Set Method (Concrete Base)
Recommended for high-traffic areas or regions with freeze-thaw cycles.
Install over a reinforced concrete base using white marble thin-set mortar.
Back-butter each paver to ensure complete adhesion.
Leave expansion joints every 8–10 feet for thermal movement.
Sealing & Maintenance
Apply a penetrating sealer suitable for exterior marble to protect against stains and moisture.
Reseal every 1–2 years, depending on foot traffic and climate exposure.
Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner. Avoid acidic or abrasive products that may damage the marble.
Disclaimer
Marble is a natural stone with inherent variations in color, veining, and texture. Always perform a dry layout to blend shades and test sealer compatibility on a small area first. Professional installation is strongly recommended to ensure proper base preparation and long-term performance.
