Installation Guide – Avalon White 6″x12″ Sandblasted Marble Paver

Step 1: Surface Preparation

• Ensure the installation area is clean, level, and stable.

• Remove dirt, debris, grass, or old paving materials.

• For ground installations, compact the soil and add a 4–6″ layer of crushed stone or gravel for proper drainage.

• Top with a 1″ layer of sand and level using a screed.

Step 2: Layout Planning

• Dry-lay pavers to check color consistency and pattern alignment.

• Consider your desired design (running bond, herringbone, basketweave).

• Mark reference lines using stakes and string to keep rows straight.

Step 3: Setting the Pavers

• Start from a corner or straight edge and work outward.

• Place each paver firmly on the sand bed.

• Maintain 1/8″–1/4″ joint spacing for sand filling.

• Use a rubber mallet to gently tap each paver level with its neighbors.

Step 4: Joint Filling

• Sweep polymeric sand or fine masonry sand into all joints.

• Ensure sand fills completely for stability and to prevent shifting.

• Lightly mist the surface with water to help sand settle. Repeat if necessary.

Step 5: Edge Restraints

• Install edge restraints around the perimeter to keep pavers from spreading.

• Secure with spikes or stakes as per manufacturer recommendations.

Step 6: Final Checks & Maintenance

• Walk the surface to check for loose pavers and adjust as needed.

• Remove excess sand from the surface.

• Seal if desired with a penetrating, natural stone-safe sealer for added protection and enhanced color.

• Sweep and clean regularly; avoid acidic cleaners that may etch the marble.
