Step 1: Surface Preparation – Level and Clean
Ensure the substrate is flat, dry, and free of dust, oil, or old adhesives. Check for uneven areas and correct with a self-leveling compound. Apply a waterproofing membrane in wet zones like showers or kitchens.

Step 2: Layout Planning – Harmonious Veining
Snap chalk lines from the room center for a balanced layout. Dry-lay several tiles to inspect veining and tone distribution. Use 1/16″–1/8″ spacers; beveled edges will accentuate grout lines, so consistent spacing is crucial.

Step 3: Mortar Application – White Thin-Set Recommended
Recommended Mortars: Mapei Ultraflex LFT White, Laticrete 254 Platinum White, Ardex X77 White.

Use a 1/4″ or 3/8″ square-notched trowel depending on surface flatness.
Back-butter tiles for full coverage and secure adhesion.
Apply mortar in small sections to prevent drying before placement.
