Installation Guide – Step by Step

Step 1: Prepare the Base – Solid and Level

• Clear the installation area of dirt, debris, and vegetation.

• For outdoor spaces, ensure proper slope for drainage (recommended 1/4″ per foot).

• Compact a gravel sub-base to create a firm foundation.

• Spread 1–2 inches of leveling sand over the gravel and screed it smooth.

Step 2: Layout Planning – Harmonious Pattern

• Dry-lay pavers to check color distribution, veining, and the French Pattern alignment.

• Mix tiles from multiple sets to balance tones and create a natural look.

• Plan edges, corners, and transitions before final placement.

Step 3: Placing Pavers – Align and Secure

• Lay pavers according to the French Pattern layout.

• Maintain slight gaps (1/8″–1/4″) between tiles for joint filling.

• Tap each paver gently with a rubber mallet to seat it firmly.

Step 4: Filling Joints – Lock Pavers in Place

• Sweep fine sand or polymeric sand into all joints.

• Compact the sand into joints using a broom or plate compactor.

• Refill joints as necessary to ensure stability and uniform appearance.

Step 5: Sealing & Maintenance – Protect and Preserve

• Clean pavers thoroughly after installation to remove dust and debris.

• Apply a penetrating stone sealer suitable for tumbled travertine to protect against stains, moisture, and UV exposure.

• Reapply sealer every 1–2 years to maintain durability and appearance.

• Regularly sweep and rinse pavers to keep the surface looking natural and vibrant.
