Beige Diamond Polished Tile – Step-by-Step Installation Guide

Step 1: Prepare the Surface

Ensure the substrate is clean, dry, and free of dust, grease, old adhesives, or moisture.
Check surface flatness with a long level or straightedge; maximum variation should be no more than 1/8″ over 10 ft.
In wet or high-humidity areas, apply a waterproofing membrane to protect the tile.

Step 2: Plan the Layout

Draw layout lines to center the tiles for balanced, symmetrical placement.
Dry-lay several tiles to evaluate tone variation and achieve a consistent visual flow.
Maintain 1/16″–1/8″ grout joints to highlight the straight-edge design and ensure a seamless appearance.

Step 3: Apply Mortar

Recommended Mortars:

Laticrete 254 Platinum White
Ardex X77 or X5 White

Instructions:

Use a 1/2″ square-notched trowel for even mortar coverage.

Step 4: Cut and Fit Tiles

Always test-fit cut pieces before permanently setting them.

Step 5: Set Tiles

Place tiles carefully, using a leveling system to prevent uneven surfaces or lippage.
Insert spacers to maintain uniform joints.
Wipe off excess mortar immediately with a damp sponge to prevent staining or haze.
Allow adhesive to cure for at least 24 hours before grouting.

Step 6: Grout and Seal

Pre-seal the polished marble with a penetrating sealer to prevent staining.
Use non-sanded grout to protect the polished surface from scratches.
Apply grout with a rubber float, working diagonally across joints.
Remove excess grout promptly and buff off any haze after 20–30 minutes.
Once grout has cured (typically 72 hours), apply a second coat of sealer for long-lasting protection.

Clean only with pH-neutral, non-abrasive marble cleaners.
Wipe up spills immediately to prevent etching or staining.
Reapply sealer every 6–12 months depending on usage and exposure.
