Installation Guide – Step by Step

Step 1: Surface Preparation – Build a Perfect Foundation

Start with a clean, dry, and level substrate free from dust, oils, paint, or debris.
For wet areas such as showers or kitchen backsplashes, apply a waterproofing membrane.
Use a self-leveling underlayment where necessary—polished tiles require a flat surface to avoid lippage and visual distortions.

Step 2: Layout Planning – Achieve Harmony and Flow

Mark the centerlines of your installation area.
Dry-lay multiple tiles to observe natural color variation and veining; Royal Beige marble exhibits gentle movement in tone.
Mix tiles from different boxes to create a balanced and cohesive look.
Maintain tight grout joints (1/16″–1/8″) to complement the polished straight edges.

Step 3: Adhesive Application – White, Non-Staining Thin-Set

Recommended Mortars:

• Mapei Ultraflex LFT White

• Laticrete 254 Platinum White

• Ardex X77 White

Spread white thin-set with a 1/2″ square-notched trowel for even coverage.
Back-butter each tile to ensure full contact and avoid voids.
Work in small sections to prevent mortar from drying before tiles are placed.

Step 4: Cutting & Fitting – Precise and Smooth

Use a wet saw with a continuous-rim diamond blade suitable for marble to prevent chipping.
Measure carefully and test-fit each tile before installation.
Smooth exposed edges with a marble file or polishing pad for a flawless finish.

Step 5: Setting Tiles – Even, Lippage-Free Surface

Use a leveling system designed for large-format tiles.
Place tiles carefully with spacers and tap lightly with a rubber mallet to ensure even seating.
Remove excess thin-set immediately to prevent haze or marks on the polished surface.
Allow tiles to cure undisturbed for at least 24 hours before grouting.

Step 6: Grouting & Sealing – Protect the Polished Finish

Pre-seal polished marble before grouting to prevent staining.
Use non-sanded grout for joints up to 1/8″ to avoid scratching the surface.
Apply grout diagonally with a rubber float and clean promptly with a damp sponge.
Buff the surface after 15–20 minutes to remove haze.
Once grout has fully cured (approx. 72 hours), apply a second coat of a penetrating sealer suitable for polished marble.

Maintenance – Keep Your Marble Gleaming

• Clean only with pH-neutral, marble-safe cleaners. Avoid acidic or abrasive products.

• Wipe up spills immediately, particularly wine, citrus, oils, or cosmetics.

• Re-seal periodically (6–12 months depending on use and traffic).

• Protect high-traffic areas with rugs or felt pads under furniture.

Shipping & Storage

Each 12″x24″ Royal Beige polished marble tile is individually cushioned and boxed for safe transport. Store indoors and inspect for natural variation before installation.
