Installation Guide – Clipped Diamond Beige Marble Mosaic with Emperador Dot

Step 1: Surface Preparation – Build on a Solid Base

Ensure the substrate is clean, dry, level, and free of dust, grease, or debris. Correct uneven areas with a self-leveling compound if needed. Apply a waterproofing membrane in wet zones such as showers, backsplashes, or accent walls.

Step 2: Layout Planning – Symmetry & Design Flow

Mark the center of your surface to achieve balanced alignment. Dry-lay several mosaic sheets to check the veining, color flow, and Emperador dot placement. Blend sheets from multiple boxes to maintain consistency in tone. Use 1/16″ to 1/8″ spacers between sheets to ensure uniform grout lines.

Step 3: Thin-Set Application – Precision Matters

Recommended Mortars:

• Mapei Adesilex P10 (optionally with Keraply for added strength)

• Laticrete Glass Tile Adhesive Mortar (white)

• Ardex X77 White

Instructions:

• Apply thin-set with a 3/16″ V-notched or 1/4″ square-notched trowel for even coverage.

• Comb mortar at a 45° angle, then back-butter mosaic sheets if necessary for full adhesion.

• Press sheets gently into place with a rubber grout float or beating block to ensure proper contact.

Step 4: Cutting & Adjustments – Clean Finishing

Use a wet saw with a fine diamond blade to cut tiles accurately, cutting from the back mesh side to minimize chipping. Smooth edges with a stone file or rubbing block as needed.

Step 5: Grouting – Protect the Polished Surface

Pre-seal tiles with a marble-safe penetrating sealer before grouting. Use non-sanded grout to avoid scratching the polished surface. Apply grout diagonally with a rubber float, filling all joints completely. Remove excess grout promptly with a damp sponge and buff haze with a microfiber cloth after 30–45 minutes.

Step 6: Final Sealing – Preserve the Shine

After grout cures (typically 72 hours), apply a second coat of penetrating marble-safe sealer for long-lasting protection and enhanced gloss.

Maintenance Tips – Keep It Pristine

• Clean only with pH-neutral, non-acidic stone cleaners.

• Wipe spills immediately to prevent staining or etching.

• Reseal surfaces periodically based on usage and exposure.

Shipping & Packaging

Each mosaic sheet is padded and supported with mesh backing to prevent damage during transit. Inspect sheets prior to installation to ensure consistent color, veining, and pattern alignment.
